About Transport: Tipping Point
Transport: Tipping Point is a theatrical performance that actively engages with current social and ecological issues, placing the audience at the center of a courtroom trial. On the defendant’s bench sits a representative of one of the world’s largest energy corporations—accused of participating in one of the most serious ecological disasters of our time. The explosion of an oil rig exposes the fragility of the system, the unchecked power of oil companies, and the deadly link between greed and systemic irresponsibility.
This is not only a story about the largest ecological disaster in U.S. history but also an urgent reflection on a world where nature increasingly loses the battle against the logic of capital. The performance poses fundamental questions: Who is responsible for consequences that affect the entire planet? And what is our role? Do our lifestyles and consumption habits help sustain the very structures that allow such catastrophes to happen?
Tipping Point is part of the European project Transport, which explores the interconnectedness of today’s world. The project invites reflection on the consequences of our actions and encourages the search for more sustainable and responsible forms of development. Each performance raises essential questions, and together—whether presented as a series or a puppet omnibus—they emphasize the global interdependence of contemporary problems.
