One day in the life of a small child — told through playful scenes filled with light. From morning to evening, from waking to sleeping, indoors and outdoors — all kinds of light accompany the child’s journey.
Light can perform magic. And in its imagination and view of the world, a child performs magic too — together with the help of an ordinary lamp, flashlight, streetlight, fire, or candle.
And what about the sun, the moon, the stars, or even the northern lights?
Light and darkness – two fundamental experiences. Sometimes, light blinds us. Other times, it offers the comforting clarity of understanding where we are and what surrounds us. It can sneak in mysteriously through a keyhole or a crack in the door.
That’s why we invite you into a magical theatrical world, where children and adults alike can experience the luminous wonders of day and night — all through the discovering eyes of a small child.
Experienced director and playwright Jiří Ondra teams up with scenographer Karel Czech to open a light laboratory at Alfa Theatre, where both young and grown-up audiences are invited to join in a captivating exploration of light’s many miracles.
